Semada Foundation is a Ghana-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering communities through health programs, agriculture development, education support, gender equality initiatives, youth empowerment, and sustainable livelihood interventions.

Established in 2018 and headquartered in Accra, Semada Foundation works at the grassroots level to improve the lives of women, children, youth, and vulnerable populations across Ghana through inclusive, community-led development strategies.

We are driven by a strong belief that sustainable development begins within communities, and that people must be active participants in shaping their own future.

Our Approach

Community-Led Development in Ghana

Semada Foundation uses participatory and inclusive methodologies that ensure communities take ownership of development initiatives.

Semada Foundation implements integrated development programs in Ghana across key thematic areas:

Health & Community Development

We provide community-based health interventions including maternal and child health services, malaria prevention, nutrition education, sexual and reproductive health rights, and disease prevention programs.

Agriculture & Food Security

We promote climate-smart agriculture in Ghana, support women farmers, develop youth agribusiness skills, and improve food security through sustainable farming practices and community agricultural enterprises.

Women & Girls Empowerment

We advance gender equality through leadership training, economic empowerment programs, prevention of gender-based violence, and advocacy for women’s rights.

Youth Empowerment & Workforce Development

We equip young people with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and employment readiness programs to enhance job creation and economic participation.

Education & Skills Training

We support access to education through scholarships, literacy programs, vocational training, and reintegration of out-of-school children and youth.

Sustainable Livelihoods & Social Protection

We strengthen household incomes through micro-credit support, income-generating activities, and community-based enterprise development.

Advocacy, Social Accountability & Gender Equality

We promote inclusive governance, strengthen community voices, and advocate for policies that protect vulnerable populations.

Research & Evidence-Based Programming

We conduct operational research to inform development interventions and improve program effectiveness in Ghana.
